The purpose of this project was to learn how to use a website named photopea because we are planning on using it later on in the year to help us create digital art. For this project it will only be process and experimentation so I can get used to using it and be able to mess around with all of the tools that photopea has.
Process I first started with photos that I have taken within the 8 months to give myself some photos to work with. The first photo I started with was a photo from my homecoming when I went downtown with my friends. My second photo is of me and the other single's players on my tennis team at the city conference tournament My third picture is of me standing with my back turned to the camera inspired by batman looking out upon Gotham city. This picture was taken at my friends birthday party where we went on panic with a bunch of our friends in a near by park. My forth photo was taken on the way to school on day and I pulled over to the side of the road and took a photo of the sky because I liked the colors mixed together. Now that I had my photos I started with the base which is going to be photo one because it has enough room what I want to do for this project. With this photo I just made the lighting look a little better because I didn't like how dark it was before. After I made the first photo look a little better I took the second picture and cropped everything out of it except myself. Then I took myself from photo two and put him into picture one in the corner to leave room for my next step. Although that step seemed easily it took a long time because I had to learn and experiment with photopea to learn how to crop stuff out and how to put something from one image to another one. The next thing I want to do to this image was add myself from picture three with my back turned looking at the fountain in the background. Since I already did this before it was a lot easier the second time around. So I cropped everything but myself from image three and put myself into my base image looking at the fountain because I think it fits this piece. The finale thing I wanted to do was change the sky of my base image because I didn't think it looked the best. So I took image four and cropped it so it was only the sky and not the landscape in the photo. Then I cropped out the sky in my base image to get rid of it. Then the finale step was to just lay the base image on top of the picture of the sky for the finale product. Experimentation Since I have never used a photo edit program like photopea so everything i was using I was experimenting with. Before i started with my project I took an image of a dog of the internet and started playing around with the tools like changing the colors. Then I started messing around with distorting the dog and making it look like it was being sucked into a black hole Reflection Looking back at this project I would say I learned a lot when it comes to how to use not photopea but other photo editing software like photo shop. I believe this project was very useful for me to learn the ropes of photo editing and to get a feel for how it works. This project is one of my favorites that I've done in a while because it let me do whatever I wanted without holding back. The hardest part about this project was how slow the website ran on the chromebook and that it crashed a lot of times but after I moved to my home computer it became much easier. If I were to do this again I would just start on my family computer to save myself the trouble and headaches of the website crashing and my project not saving. |
